Key Output
• Maintain, implement and control the Quality Management System (QMS) in the Service department
• Implement and maintain contamination control standards as per OEM requirements
• Maintain quality and contamination control documents within Service
• Perform quality and contamination control audits as per relevant standards, policies and procedures, ISO guidelines and requirements
• Oversee strict adherence to quality control plans, standards and procedures by the service workshop teams
• Verify correct implementation of quality control and contamination control procedures
• Conduct inspections and perform quality tests on work in progress in the workshop as per quality control plan, standards and service quality procedures
• Complete quality inspection reports
• Facilitate problem solving for quality issues and service warranties using appropriate tools, systems and techniques
• Identity root causes and provide advice on corrective actions for service quality issues
• Collect and analyse service quality data, identify trends and propose countermeasures or process improvements to improve service quality
• Provide training on service quality awareness and quality control measures to improve service excellence
• Assist in the development of workshop repair, assembly and rebuild testing methods and inspection plans
• Monitor and report on quality-related key performance indicators and ensure service quality objectives and targets are met
• Responsible for final inspection on completed assembly, repairs and rebuilds in the workshop i.e. final line of approval on all work conducted in workshop
• Manage projects related to quality process and contamination control improvements
Qualification, Experience and Competencies
• Qualified in relevant trade (Heavy / Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) – “Red Seal” [HEM / EEM Trade test or NQF4 learnership, passing Sec 26(d) Trade test]
• Advanced Caterpillar Certification
• > 5 years qualified artisan
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Technical Analyst
• Prior experience as Service/Technical Planner or Service Supervisor advantageous
• Good administrative skills
