Core purpose of the role
The Senior Manager: Business Analysis is responsible for identifying and developing new and alternative approaches to performing business activities that are made possible by advances in information and communications technology. This includes the understanding of the underlying technology and its application, assessment of the costs and potential benefits of the new approaches considered and, where appropriate, organisational change management and assistance with implementation.
Key deliverables and outputs
• Overall responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating activities pertaining to business analysis projects, on a divisional level in conjunction with the IT Delivery Teams. Assign resources to IT Delivery Teams in line with IT Delivery pipeline requirements.
• Effectively define team work into tasks, priorities tasks, allocate resources, deal with conflicting work issues, set deadlines and review progress against plan in support of the organisational business objectives and strategy.
• Identification of key business process improvement areas in support of strategic business plan.
• Ensure the documentation of clear business cases with stated objectives, costs and financial benefits.
• Document agreement of project proposals and review of project proposals to determine goals, time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of resources.
• Collaborate with business leaders to provide solutions that support the organisational business strategy.
• Deep understanding of customer needs and market trends, through customer interaction and other market research.
• Interact with stakeholders to understand new business requirements and enhancement requests.
• Lead the creation of processes that are widely adopted throughout the organisation to improve business process analysis practices and standards.
• Drive the creation and ownership of business requirements documentation.
• Serve as a liaison role between application technology vendors, internal IT teams, and business users to define.
• Interact with IT Delivery, architecture, engineering, and quality assurance teams during the software build and/or configuration process and testing process.
• Participate in user focus groups and requirements workshops, training and demonstrations.
• Assist in supporting IT solution launches and upgrades.
• Drive consistent efforts to deliver quality IT solutions as per agreed scope.
• Lead knowledge transfer with other team members to improve overall team education level.
• Take complete ownership for the business analysis work pipeline and timely inform the progress of the project / task to all stakeholders and escalate issues when needed.

Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Academic qualifications
Essential:
• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
• Postgraduate degree in IT or related field
Advantageous:
• Business management-related certifications
• Project management certification
Work experience
Essential:
• 7 – 10 years’ experience in the IT business analysis field
• At least 3 years’ leadership experience as Business Analysis Team Lead
• Proven track record of managing all types of business analysis assignments
• Proven track record of project management
Advantageous:
• Experience in working with DevSecOps squads
Knowledge
Essential:
• Detailed understanding of business analysis methodologies
• Understanding of DevSecOps concepts and practices
• Deep understanding of development and implementation of processes
• Good understanding of IT Governance principles to drive alignment between the organisation and IT
• Excellent understanding of the organisation’s mission, values, operations and goals
