Key Outputs

• Contribute to the design, development and implementation of an integrated learning quality management system (QMS) that continuously improves the quality of learning products, systems, content and processes. Incorporate the principles of LEAN / 6 Sigma and ISO 9001 standards as applicable to ensure performance measurement and continuous improvement.

• Review all learning policies and processes and ensure alignment with overall talent development strategy and integration with all other company policies & procedures. Map out learning processes that have not been defined and review existing business processes required for effective implementation. Ensure that all current templates are stored and controlled centrally on the learning repository for ease of access by the team and for audits.

• Policy alignment with Cat and HEM curriculums for the complete Apprenticeship, including the logbook and procedures to follow, Ensure that ALL the Instructors understand the logbook and know for which areas they are responsible between regional and PJB LA Instructors.

• Design the Regional Instructor progression guide, for first year Apprentices, these timelines to be monitored and tracked on a monthly basis.

• Learner logbook control, ensure that logbook get signed off and that tasks get moderated monthly. Ensure that learners are rated correctly by the Technicians and keep track of compliance to the notional hours as according to national requirements.

• Ensure that first year training material gets updated according to curriculum and Technology changes. Regional training centre audits and support (Cap on Cap) and Instructor evaluations at least once a year. Request monthly regional training centre tooling checks in terms of special tooling and individual toolboxes.

• Stakeholder engagements with Business, Caterpillar, and ISO verification bodies.

• Monitoring and evaluation of return-on-investment measures including impact analyses of selected programmes such as the Apprentice programme and CAT certification.

• Monitor and manage the Customer Net Loyalty system and analyse trends month to month. Track continuous improvement and provide monthly reporting.

• Conduct site visits (audits and quality reviews) and develop support plans to ensure programme effectiveness including Non-conformances related to Quality assurance of training admin, certificates, content, customer complaints etc.

• Assessment, review and audits of learning practices (including courses, Facilitator, programmes, vendors, content) Learning programme certification – ensure all certificates issued meet the quality criteria, ensure authentication of certificates issued.

• Build and maintain positive and effective working relationships internally (with business/functional leaders - be a trusted advisor) and externally.

• Asset Management and contamination control implementation and, monitoring and reporting. Compile, implement, manage and train all on the ISO and Contamination Control system, Control calibration schedule including compiling all relevant audit and management review reports, Prepare for SABS and caterpillar contamination control system, Control and report on the corrective and preventative non conformance system

• Periodically audit the ISO and contamination control systems, Compliance with ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and OHSAS 18001.

• Audit and Risk management – health & safety management in conjunction with the local SHEQ department, Marsh audits, manage & co-ordinate OHSA and related audits. Reporting of incidence in the workplace, Capturing of all incidents and preventative actions. Participate in both internal and external audits of the quality assurance practice and provide input to mitigate risks as identified in the audit reports

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

Minimum Required Qualification:

• A tertiary qualification in human sciences -
• NQF Level 7 equivalent qualification (Social Science / Education / Commerce)
• Professional Quality Management certification would be advantageous.
Minimum Required Experience:

• At least eight years working experience.
• At least two years’ experience in quality management or related systems
